Yesterday, 13th of October, UNHCR appealed to its supporters for US $10. The project is done through the "Facebook Causes" and the money donated will be used for forcibly displaced Somalis. Two hundred and fifty tens will be bought with this money for 1,250 Somali refugees. The 10-day long project includes that supporters will be receiving stories from Somalis who have fled the country.
Note: Somalia has been plagued by violence for almost two decades. Hundreds of thousands have fled the country or sought refuge in other parts of their country. Each year, tens of thousands risk their lives by crossing the Gulf of Aden on smugglers' boats to reach Yemen.
